Have you been told to do your pelvic floor exercises but you’re just not sure you are getting it right?

Would you like to know definitively that you are doing it  correctly with real time feedback to show a picture of what your muscles are actually doing during that exercise

We can help you out using Real-time ultrasound!

Real- time ultrasound (RTUS) is a tool we use in the clinic to help train core muscles correctly. It gives immediate visual feedback about what your stomach muscles are doing during an exercise so that you can ensure you are getting it right. We can also teach you some great tricks about how to activate them!

Does this sound like you?

  • I’ve been doing Pilates but still not improving
  • I don’t understand how to activate my pelvic floor
  • Everytime I contract my core I just brace my whole body
  • I can’t breathe with my pelvic floor activated

Many people benefit from having an assessment and education session with Real-time Ultrasound. Especially if you have:

  • weak core
  • poor core sensation below the beltline
  • lower back, pelvic, hip pain
  • chronic pain
  • poor posture
  • incontinence
  • abdominal separation postpartum
  • poor breathing patterns
  • post-operative patients

Training your core can be seen as a very difficult task- but it doesn’t have to be (and its so important!!). Core muscles are essential for supporting and stabilising your lower back, and without your core, you can get a lot of issues, particularly low back pain, pelvic pain and hip pain (not to mention problems with knees and other areas).

Don’t fear though, our Physiotherapists are here to help you with this one.

We can conduct a thorough assessment to establish the reason you are having difficulty activating your core, teach you how to activate it correctly (and correct any underlying problems contributing to it) and give you a structured plan on how to improve it, and also improve your back/pelvic or hip pain, incontinence anything else that it could be affecting.
